The surgeon does this by easily inserting a saline-filled needle into the skin and then into the reservoir portion of the lap band. This adjustment can also be done for women who are looking to become pregnant or individuals who are hoping to lose added weight.

If a person finds that the Lap Band surgery was not for them over time, the lap band unlike the Gastric Bypass procedure may be removed.

While doctors do not advise for any reason removing the lap band, knowing that it can be removed often gives comforts to patients, yet another advantage for individuals seeking this form of weight loss surgery.
